OPPD moves reciprocating Wartsila gas engines into place:

Omaha Public Power District moved nine Wärtsilä reciprocating internal combustion engines to the Standing Bear Lake Station as part of a project to add two natural gas-fueled balancing plants to its system. The plants are part of the utility’s Power with Purpose initiative, which is planned to add 1,200 MW of solar and natural gas generation. The natural gas generation plants will be used as needed, per market conditions (estimated to be about 15% of the time).
